REV. BECKY SECHRIST, PASTOR: "I help coordinate and direct all the great things people do at Minnehaha United Methodist Church. Plus, I get to teach confirmation, lead adult studies, preach, and visit folks who can't make it to church anymore. I also play clarinet in the Seward Concert Band, and I'm training my dog, Raz, to play Agility. Martha and I like to camp, hike, bike, canoe, and generally spend as much time outside as possible."
JENIA STROM, DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN, YOUTH & FAMILIES: "My focus is on creating and sustaining programming for the children — birth through fifth grade — and youth — sixth through twelfth grade — of Minnehaha and their families. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends — exploring beautiful places around the Twin Cities, cooking and baking and gardening, and celebrating little and big moments in our lives."
HEATHER KLEIN, CHURCH SECRETARY: "I handle all office communications, publications and scheduling for the church, including newsletters, e-news, bulletins and more! On my own time, I'm busy with child care. Plus I'm a professional actor, dancer and singer. And I'm also involved with dog rescue and an avid reader."
ALEX RACK, CHOIR DIRECTOR: "I rehearse the choir, along with Anders, and conduct the anthem during the church's first worship service on Sundays. Right now I am halfway through my masters in choral conducting at the University of Minnesota. I love to bake and go on bike rides and swim, and I also conduct the Minneapolis Madrigal Singers."
ANDERS NELSON, ORGANIST: "I prepare and perform music for the first worship service at Minnehaha. I accompany the choir and select preludes, offertories, and postludes. Outside of church, I'm a full-time student studying software engineering. I live in Roseville with my girlfriend, plus our cats Tuna and Oscar. I enjoy creating and listening to music, cooking, and spending time outdoors. And I play guitar in a band and run a home recording studio with a couple friends."
STEVE MEIER, CUSTODIAN: "At Minnehaha, I try to have the building clean and ready to go for worship and church business, and also for all the committees and neighborhood groups and schools that use the building. When I'm not at church I like trips to the cabin up north and I play a lot of disc golf."
JOSH ESPINOSA, CO-CONTEMPORARY BAND LEADER: "I help coordinate the music for the second service. I also cover whichever instrument we happen to lack that week. This is the first church I've been to that genuinely lines up with my values. I love its message of community and unconditional acceptance. Outside of Minnehaha, I have a music education business called Approachable Music that's centered around teaching music through accelerated learning methods."
TIM SIEFKES, CO-CONTEMPORARY BAND LEADER: "I seek out, arrange, teach and play music selections for the second worship service at Minnehaha. I try to find a wide variety of interesting music to play that is inspiring and fun to hear (I hope), and that might give us something to think about as well. The band is a dedicated and enthusiastic group of singers and players, and it's very rewarding to hear it all come together. When I'm not playing music I enjoy traveling with my wife, and motorcycling, boating and camping."
ANNETTE SANDAGER, TREASURER: "As Treasurer, I pay bills, process payroll and do monthly financial reports. The church has a lot going on with its finances, and I make sure it's tracked and monitored accurately. What I love best about Minnehaha is the people. So many individuals work together and volunteer lots of time to make things run smoothly. Outside of work I spend most of my days with my husband and two kids. (Outside, if the weather allows.) I'm also involved in the Minnehaha Playgroup."
