What We've Done
Minnehaha Youth have had a fantastic and busy last couple of months! They provided childcare for parents during the Harvest dinner, went to Feed My Starving Children, spent a weekend in Rochester seeking, serving, and celebrating in ways they never had before, and had fun decorating and running the Haunted hallway and providing Trick or Treating at the church Halloween party. The Confirmation class was greeted with guest speakers to speak about Judaism, while they got to try tasty traditional treats. They also have had a couple hilarious game nights, and a Superhero babysitting night that was loved by all that were there. WOW! (See pictures below.)
2016 Minnehaha UMC Youth Schedule
13th - Youth Night: (Youth Grades 6th-12th) – We are going out for a exhilarating night at the Ropes Course @ MOA. We will leave the Church at 6:30, and be back around 8:30. 17th - Confirmation Meeting for current 5th graders and Parents – Becky and I are looking forward to meeting with this years current 5th graders and parents during the Sunday school hour to discuss involvement in the Confirmation program this fall. Starts at 10:15 in the back of the Fellowship hall.
20th - Confirmation Night: (Youth Grades 6th-9th) 6:30-8:00 on the 3rd floor. – We will be talking about "Noah and the Flood'".

Youth are encouraged to bring their favorite games. The next morning we are helping hand out and carry food for Minneharvest, so pick-up will be a little later than normal at 10:30 am. Friends are always welcome - just please remember to RSVP!
27th - Youth Game Night: (Youth Grades 6th-12th) – Games start at 6:30 in the Wesley Room and goes until 8:00pm.

11th - Youth Night: (Youth Grades 6th-12th) – Movie Night! We will be converting the gym into our own private movie theater and enjoy fresh popcorn and ice cream sundaes with our feet up. There is no cost to youth, and the movie starts at 6:30 sharp!
18th - Confirmation Night: (Youth Grades 6th-9th) – End of Confirmation Field Trip! The Youth will be going back to Whirly Ball! What the heck is WhirlyBall?!? WhirlyBall is an extremely fun “sport” that combines basketball, hockey, lacrosse, and bumper-cars. That’s right, bumper-cars. We need to leave MUMC by 6:15 to make it on time and we will be back around 8:30. Cost is $15.00 per youth.
18-19th - General Conference Participation: (Youth Grades 6th-12th) – The United Methodist General Conference is the top policy making body of the United Methodist Church and meets once every four years. The conference can revise church law, as well as adopt resolutions on current moral, social, public policy and economic issues. It also approves plans and budgets for church-wide programs. This year it will meet in Portland Oregon. Over the past couple years many youth have expressed interest in learning more about it. Since it would cost way too much money to travel to Oregon, we will stay overnight at Minnehaha Wednesday May 18th and spend all day on the 19th streaming live feed of the Conference, learning the processes used, and having discussions on the topics. Cost is $15 to cover Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and snacks. Pick-up is Thurs at 7:00pm.
**We do understand that this is a school night and they would need permission to miss school on Thursday May 18th to participate. We have never had a youth event during school hours, but we feel this is a very important, exciting, and limited time experience for them.**
Future Dates to look at:
